1. BULGHUR WHEAT AND FINGER MILLET PORRIDGE
Ingredients:
• ½ tbsp Bulghur Wheat
• ½ tbsp Finger Millet
• 2 dates , deseeded
• 3/4 cup coconut milk (for < 1 year baby)/milk (for > 1 year toddler)
• 3/4 cup water
Method:
• Pressure cook the bulghur wheat, finger millet and dates with ½ cup of water for 3 whistles. Let it cool.
• Liquidize the cooked bulghur wheat, finger millet and dates with ½ cup of milk in a blender till it reaches a smooth texture.
• Transfer this into a pan and add ¼ cup of water and the remaining ¼ cup of milk and mix well.
• Bring to a boil, stirring continuously so that no lumps remain. Serve lukewarm.
2. APPLE, CARROT AND POTATO SOUP
Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup apple , peeled and chopped
• 2 tbsp carrot , peeled and chopped
• 1/4 cup potatoes , peeled and chopped
• 1 tbsp onions , chopped
• Salt-a pinch (optional)
Method:
• Sauté the onion for 2 minutes in a pressure cooker.
• Add apple, carrot and potato and sauté' for 2 to 3 minutes.
• Add 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles.
• Cool and puree in a mixer.
• Add a pinch of salt, strain and re-heat to lukewarm before serving.
3. BANANA PUNCH
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup banana
• 1 to 2 tsp brown sugar (optional)
Method:
• Boil 3/4 cup of water in a pan. Add it to the banana and brown sugar. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
• Strain it to obtain the punch. Serve lukewarm.
4. STRAWBERRY YOGURT
Ingredients:
• 5 to 6 ripe strawberries
• 1/2 cup curd
• Sugar to taste (optional)
Method:
• Grind all the ingredients together in a blender and serve immediately.
