Self-care tips for busy moms!
Mothers tend to put everyone else in the family first and can often neglect self-care and their own well-being. Busy mothers are often over-stressed and under-pampered. Even mothers need to be pampered and revitalize themselves. Ironically, it is one of the hardest things to find the time and energy to do. Here are a few tips to invest in your own care!
• Take an hour or two for yourself. The rest of the day will be easier and fun. Your family will enjoy having an energetic and refreshed mom. Pay attention to your own needs and you'll be better at meeting everyone else's.
• Sleep deprivation and stress can make you gain weight as they release cortisol into your bloodstream which triggers fat storage around your waist. The next time you're tempted to stay up and finish folding the laundry clothes, go to sleep instead.
• Life is for living. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you'll relax once you reach the bottom of your to-do-list because there will always be something more to do. Instead, pitilessly prioritise and eliminate tasks that you don't have to totally get done.
• Make sure to eat a well balanced diet to get all the nutrition and to take a break when you're feeling overwhelmed. Take a walk or meditate, anything that relaxes you can help you bounce back.
