A Good Night’s Rest: Research shows that sleeping for less than 7 hours can affect memory and judgment. For quality sleep, try to maintain the same sleep timings every day.
Exercise When You Can: Physical activity nourishes the brain with oxygen, reduces stress and improves memory.
Eat Right: Choose foods rich in Omega–3 fatty acids (found in nuts and fish) and low in other fats and include more of fruits and vegetables to help neurotransmitters send nerve signals more quickly and efficiently.
Drink Lots of Water: As much as 72 percent of the brain is composed of water, so dehydration can cause memory problems. Have at least 10 glasses of water per day.

Stop Smoking: Smoking constricts blood vessels and reduces blood and oxygen supply to the brain. Smoking 10 – 20 cigarettes a day can double the risk of age-onset dementia.
