FINDING THE RIGHT HELP!
The first thing that strikes a working new mum is how to arrange for the right babysitter who can take good care of her baby in her absence! Finding the right help is the first important thing. A few strategies that you need to know to create a safe and a calm environment for you, your baby and the sitter are:
• Look out not just for a potential babysitter, but also an experienced babysitter who knows a few emergency life saving techniques.
• Let the babysitter be present at least 30minutes before you leave so that both the baby and the babysitter get to know each other and also you can watch them in action. Make sure your good-bye is casual and let the baby know that you are going away for some time and will be back home and keep up his trust. If you don't, then he will turn fussy to stay with the babysitter the next time! Do not sneak out of the house.
• Introduce your little one to the babysitter; his likes, sleeping pattern, food habits etc. Let the babysitter be aware of the baby's belongings in the house and also keep important phone numbers and addresses handy.
If you are lucky enough to get a relative caregiver for your baby, then just be sure of a few things like... is your relative in real need of the job? Is she good with kids? Is she physically capable of handling your baby well? How flexible is she, time-wise and attitude-wise?
Make sure you get the best babysitter for your baby...
