Do You Wish To Live To A 100?

Aging is basically the progressive and inexorable accumulation of molecular and cellular damage which leads to loss of physical function increasing infirmity, elevated risk of chronic illness, and ultimately death and once we address those issues we will be pretty much home.

Human beings have dreamed of delaying the aging process for millennia. From olive leaves in ancient Egypt to the alchemists' "elixir of life".  And are still on tonics and vitamins in the attempt to ward off the ravages of the years. So, here are few do’s to live to a 100

Sticking to a healthy diet: Which means avoid smoking, alcohol abuse, or overindulging in sweets rather than one should stick to a diet based on fruits, vegetables, beans, and nuts.

Keep yourself engaged: It’s seen that after retirement people stop working abruptly which in turn leads to obesity and various chronic diseases like, heart disease, stroke, cancer, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, diabetes etc. So, keep yourself active by doing small chores like gardening, maintaining farms, spending time with children, teaching etc.

Get at least six hours of sleep: Sleeping is one of the most important functions that our body uses to regulate and heal cells. So avoid skipping your sleep and add years to your life.

Be optimistic: Which clearly means that one should have a positive attitude towards life.  Which encourage people to live more carefully, taking health and safety precautions.

Consume whole foods, not supplements: It’s been observed that people who have high blood levels of certain nutrients like selenium, beta-carotene, vitamin C and E have a slower rate of cognitive decline. So, avoid taking white foods like bread, flour, sugars etc. and go for colorful fruits and vegetables as they are the host of many hidden nutrients.

Don’t Smoke: Smoking has a negative impact on overall health of an individual and can lead to various health issues like lung cancer, coronary heart disease, stroke and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). So, if you smoke, do your best to quit, and if you don't smoke, don't start.
