Letting Go and Forgiving

Anger is a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility that everybody experiences from time to time. Since it's a natural human emotion it is not possible to eliminate anger but it is possible to manage anger. Letting go off past resentments and forgiving is one way to manage anger and save important relationships from further damage.

Letting go and forgiving helps us move on to better things and be happier. While it may not be easy, there are always ways to learn it. Read on for a few tips:

  • Commit to Letting Go. Remember that your hatred can only hurt you and not your enemy. So try to get over the hurtful event by living in the present.
  • Revenge should be sweet. Proving that you came out shining in spite of the obstacles people laid in your path is more than enough for them to repent their actions.
  • Find the silver lining. Think that your haters are the people that helped you grow and mold yourself. Remember, “What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger”.
  • Think about happier times. Think about the happier times you had with the people who ended up hurting you. This eases the pain immensely, and further helps you move on.
  • Think about the helpers. Thhere are people who helped us selflessly to get through our bad events. Think about those people and focus on what you learned from them.
  • Be kind to yourself. Don’t punish yourself for what has happened in the past. The act of letting go will be a slow process. So give yourself ample of time to heal, both mentally and physically.
  • Keep your distance. The best way to let go is to keep distance from the person who hurt you. Do not get overfriendly or too personal.
  • Never lose perspective or focus. Concentrate on building your future instead of focusing on the past.

By forgiving, you will be letting yourself free; not the person who hurt you!
