Yellow Pancakes on Banana Leaf

Packed with the goodness of moong dal and medicinal benefits of banana leaf. These high protein and low calories yellow pancakes are a healthy snack that can keep one filled for a long time.

Makes: 3 servings

Ingredients

 

Amount

Moong Dal (soaked for 2 to 3 hrs.)

½ cup

Gram Flour (Besan)

1 tsp.

Curd

1 tbsp.

Green Chilies (chopped)

Asafetida (Hing)

½ tsp.

Coriander Leaves ( chopped)

Handful

Lemon juice

½ tsp.

Banana Leaf

1

Sugar

1 tsp.

Salt

As per taste

Oil

1 tbsp.

 

Method

  1. Cut the banana leaf into squares.
  2. Drain the soaked moong dal and grind it with fresh curd, green chilies, salt and sugar.
  3. Add the gram flour, lemon juice, and asafetida to the ground mixture.
  4. Grease the banana leaves lightly.
  5. Spread one spoon of the mixture on one leaf and cover with another leaf.
  6. Roast on a pan on medium flame until brown spots appear on both sides. Cover the pan while cooking.
  7. Serve hot with coriander and mint chutney.
