Artery blockage can be defined as the accumulation of waxy substances inside the arteries. It is also called atherosclerosis. When enough waxy substance builds up inside the arteries, then arteries become clogged and blood flow is slowed or stopped. The clogged artery can lead to multiple health complications depending on arteries involved,
- If coronary arteries are involved in blockage then it can lead to angina and even heart attack.
- If carotid arteries are involved in blockage then it can lead to stroke
- If peripheral arteries are involved in blockage then it can cause pain, numbness or serious infection in legs and feet.

If coronary artery affected (70% or more) then the person may feel,

Diagnosis of arterial blockage can be made on the basis of presenting complaints, medical history, physical examination, family history, and diagnostic tests.
