Baked Methi Muthias

Traditionally muthias are either fried or steamed, but here in this recipe we have used only 1 teaspoon of oil in baking and ended up with splendid results.  This is a tasty way to get a light baked snack on the table with minimal effort. Methi (fenugreek) leaves enriches this recipe with vitamin A, iron and calcium.
These methi muthias are sure to gather compliment from all those who taste this wonderful and attractive creation.

Ingredients

1 cup chopped methi (fenugreek) leaves
5 tbsp. whole wheat flour
1/4 cup besan ( gram flour)
1 tsp ginger green chili paste
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp coriander-cumin seeds powder
1/2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp oil for greasing
Salt to taste

Method

1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead it into a soft dough using approx. ¼ cup of water.
2. Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions, shape each portion roughly into an oval by rolling it between your palms and fingers.
3. Grease a baking tray with ½ tsp of oil and place them on a baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°C (360°F) for 10 minutes, turn them over and bake them again for 5 minutes.
4. Serve immediately with healthy green chutney.

Note: You can accompany these nutritious methi muthias with healthy dates and apple shake.
