10 Rules to Live by for a Positive Life

Take every waking hour as it comes and do what you are supposed to do and complete what you're supposed to complete. Stop overanalyzing or trying to predict and plan things too far. The only constant in life is change. Just live in the moment and do your best.

Below are the 10 Rules to Live by for a Positive Life:

  1. Be true to Yourself -  Accept yourself for who you are, no matter your background, your skin, the shape of your nose. Be comfortable in your own skin. Nobody is born perfect. Everyone has their flaws.
  2. Never compare yourself with others.  The grass will always seem to be greener on the other side but it doesn’t mean that it is actually greener. If you keep comparing your life with others; wishing your family was like theirs etc., you will feel the jealousy inside you. Just live and be grateful for what you have. Work hard for your dreams.
  3. Look for the good in every situation – You will always have unfortunate situations in your life that you cannot control. You can either choose to be stuck in it or let go to move on and start fresh.
  4. Let go of the need to control -  When you try to control your life, circumstances or other people, you do so because you want to feel more secure. It can drive people away and hinder you from achieving your happiness.
  5. Drop the grudges – When you hold grudges, you hold the negativity of others inside yourself. No matter what one does to you, learn to let go and let your soul free from the grudges and the pain, then you’ll be truly happy.
  6. Live in the present – The reason little kids are happy is because they live in the moment. They are attentive to what is happening in front of them and who they are with in that moment. Live in the moment by giving your 100%, you’ll feel happy.
  7. Avoid dwelling. Dwelling is overanalyzing a thought again and again because you believe it could give you a way out. To avoid dwelling and overanalyzing things be more outspoken, tackle things head-on and listen closely to your intuition.
  8. Don’t worry about your future. It can either be career, health, finance or living. Worrying doesn’t make you feel better but actions do. Worrying about the future is only harming your present.
  9. Drop your ego – Ego protects your self-esteem but at times you become a victim of your own ego. It makes you arrogant and deceitful. Stay true to yourself and others.
  10. Be open to possibilities – You don’t like feeling like you are wrong because it makes you feel rejected. When you develop an open mindset, you would embrace hearing about the different beliefs and ideas.
